Hot Days of Summer

It's the end of summer. Ms. Megan and Ms. Angela did an outstanding job with the summer reading program. If you missed part of it you may go to our Facebook page or the library's webpage to catch up. You can find us on Facebook at:  https://www.facebook.com/pearlrivercountylibrarysystem. Remember, the name of the game is keep the kids reading!

School will be starting again soon. Many, many people will be getting their homework help by 'googling' answers to homework questions. While that may satisfy some or even a lot of the answers, it won't answer all of them. Sometimes, an answer to a question is just a little more complicated than the surface web search that google and other search engines conduct. Sometimes, the answer to a question comes in many moving parts that google and other search engines cannot handle. This is where your library comes in, whether it's a school library, an academic library located on a college campus, or a public library located within your community. Librarians are trained to bring back the most correct answer to a question. And, they will do it without bringing ads into the equation! Neil Gaiman once said, “Google can bring you back 100,000 answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.”

Now that the kids are back in school, there is time to read. Come in and check out all the wonderful new books that have hit the shelves!
