Hello, it's me again

So much is going on at the library! If you have not had a chance to visit us because of the pandemic, come on by and let's get reacquainted.  The library hours have been restored to pre-COVID schedule, so both libraries are open some evenings and Crosby Memorial Library is open Saturday mornings. Both libraries are still practicing safety practices. We are observing the six foot social distancing requirement, hand sanitizer is abundantly available, and whereas patrons are not required to wear masks, staff will have them on. If you are not yet comfortable with getting out in public, curbside service is still in place. Call and we will pull books for you and deliver them to you in your car.

Ms. Megan and Ms. Angela have been working hard on their summer reading programs. The theme this year is "Tails and Tales". Most of the programs will be online again this year, but they have live programs planned for both libraries. Go to https://pearlriver.lib.ms.us for sign-up and instructions on how it all works. Remember, programs begin this Tuesday, June 8.

If you and your child cannot participate in the summer reading programming, please encourage your child to read every day. It was a tough 2 years for school children because of the pandemic. It's very difficult for children to keep up with their reading skills during the summer, anyway, and the pandemic has made things that much more difficult.

  3. 1985 - The talk show Larry King Live debuted on CNN, and it became hugely popular, in part because of King's easygoing interviewing style.
